King West (C01)

Take a walk west from Spadina Ave. to Dufferin St., and you will be surprised at how hip and upscale this formerly run-down, rather industrial neighbourhood has become.  Lofts, Townhouses and retail stores dominate the landscape today.  This up and coming neighbourhood is full of trendy shops and a countless number of restaurants and clubs.  Older homes, including row houses date back to the 1870s and 1880s, when the area was a thriving industrial centre, and nearby factories and mills needed housing for their workers.  King St. and nearby Queen St. are a shopper's delight. The area has a great mix of clothing boutiques, antique shops, galleries, bookstores, trendy restaurants, lounges and clubs.

Stanley Park is located south of King and has a playground, outdoor pool, baseball diamonds and a soccer field.  Trinity Bellwood’s Park is located north of Queen and is one of the biggest parks in the city. King West is conveniently located on the King streetcar line or you can walk north a few blocks and take the Queen car, which will get you downtown in 15 minutes. The Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard are just around the corner.
