Allenby (C04)

Allenby is named after Lord Allenby, a British World War I hero.  This neighbourhood is a favourite of families with young children. A particular draw for many parents is Allenby Public School, which has an excellent French immersion program for students from grade 1 to 6.  Homes in Allenby are mix of two-storey Tudor houses and bungalows built in the 1930s and 1940s, today, many have been renovated.   There is great shopping on Eglinton Ave.  Excellent recreational facilities are also nearby; the Beltline Trail is a popular walking and cycling path that winds through the area, and the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre offers swimming, skating, tennis and more.  Transportation is near by with a regular bus service along Eglinton that connects with the Spadina subway line and downtown is just a 20 minute drive.
